Outstanding

I just finished this game. I just want to say outstanding. Before I write this I have to say a few things about other reviews. First off. For those who say the game icon is ugly. Really? Your going to give a low review because of that? Second. Its boring and the music wants to put you to sleep? Give me a break. This is not a FPS. Its not Mario. Its not doom. Its supposed to be a challenging puzzle based game. I do not think that having heavy metal or other types of music would fit into the concept of this game. MAYBE ITS TOO HARD FOR SOME OF YOU. This is a great game and well worth the money. Im sure the developers put a lot of time and effort into this game and to have people rip it because of the icon is ludicrous. This is a beautiful, challenging, and thought provoking game. It really test you mentally. And its very addicting. Hats off to the folks who came up with one of the most original games I have seen on the store in a long long time. Im going to keep playing this for awhile. Its a top 5 game in my library. And it looks great on the iPhone 5 and iPad. Its a must for those who like a challenge. Thank You

Fix the crashing!

I love this game, its beautiful and fun, puzzles are great. I just cant give a high rating because of the constant crashing. It makes it much too frustrating to play, which is disappointing because I really WANT to play.

A relaxing action game?

Yeah, I know. It seems like an oxymoron. However, the combined effect of the music, the lighting, the soft, and pleasant colors of the surroundings make Shardlands a relaxing game. Its been noted that Breach is slightly increasing the pace of the action in the next update. Im fine with that. However, Id like to recommend making puzzles and such more complex on future levels as opposed to making the player use lightning fast reactions to make it through. Ive always enjoyed games that made you use problem solving skills over "think fast or die". I think this is the beginning of a brilliant 3D "platformer" that uses elements from a lot of classics and molds them into a fantastic new experience. Theres even a slight nod towards Pacman. :>D I do like the concept of "no weapons". Its a bit like the early Oddworld games in that regard. Though Abe did have occasional access to grenades. Im definitely happy with this one and would even be willing to pay for an expansion pack. Keep it coming! One suggestion: give separate volume controls for music and sound effects rather than merely having the option to turn them off.

Great! An adventure puzzler with beautiful graphics

Puzzlers with a sense of adventure are a very rare breed. This game has gorgeous graphics and a very simple tap interface. There are occasional (fun!) "run from the monster" moments, but for the most part this is a nicely paced walking game with great puzzles, hypnotic music and 3D visuals. The interface is incredibly simple, and while it may look like an action video game in the screenshots, this game is much more even-paced puzzler than it is a traditional "video game". My girlfriend hates action-based video games, and she loves this game. I played this game for hours on an airplane with headphones on and never once got bored. If you like relaxing, puzzle based games this is one of a kind. Just beautiful. Highly recommended.

Absolutely Wonderful

The music, ambiance, and gameplay all match perfectly. Very pleasant to play. Yeah, a bit more of an intro to say why Im here would be nice (same for opening menu screen), but the mystery is okay as well. Cant wait to get back to playing and look forward to anything else the devs create!

I loved it, but think I missed something

For non-violent, puzzle-seeking atmospheric adventurers, this game rocks. I hated luring the beasts into the beacons but then I could explore freely, so lure I did. Puzzles are increasingly challenging and at times, frustrating--especially when the controls crap out. But with enough time, patience, and planning it can all be done. Heres where Im stumped though: there were two portals I was never able to get to--one said I needed six more shards--and yet I have 34 and all the spirit keys so Im not certain what I missed. And there I was, playing along in the infuriating last screen (at least I think it was) when suddenly I poofed away and the message "to be continued" popped up. Now Im just wandering aimlessly wondering where those six shards would be and why such a gorgeous game would have such an abrupt and dissatisfying ending. Is it just me?

Simply the Best

Ive purchased games that were in-app purchase sink holes, had non-intuitive controls or took forever to load. This game fits NONE of those categories. It loads fast, its easy to play, and has one price to rule it all. The graphics and music provide a pleasurable ambiance, but the puzzles are a bit simple. Come to think of it, after a long day at work "simple" is what I need.

a defect...

enjoyable EXCEPT when the screen scroll freezes and wont move to follow the character (nor can you move it manually) and then you have to restart.

Great casual fun

This is a really nice, aesthetically pleasing casual puzzler with a sci-fi theme. Totally dig it.

Atmospheric

This game is a really great implementation of a puzzle game dressed up with some simple exploration. The puzzles are very nicely integrated and include sliding blocks and movement of mirrors. What makes this game so special is the wonderful sound and graphics and the very high level of polish. Finally, it runs great on my iPad. Fantastic!

Immersive

I typically dont like tile sliding puzzles, but the atmosphere created by Shardlands excellent graphics and audio track made the experience of playing through the game enjoyable.

Greta fun

Low pressure with great puzzles and amazing graphics. Very well done game. Thanks!

Enjoying It

Pros: This game has fun puzzles that are not too frustrating. Nice sci-fi feel. Great graphics. Saves automatically and often. Cons: No story Verdict: Highly recommended. The design, graphics and sounds make this game very immersive. Frustration free puzzler that is engaging.

Fun

Very fun game to play.can play for a few minutes or 30 minutes at a time.not too hard not to easy.

Enjoyable!

Definitely a game that has appeased me when I get frustrated with other games. Really wish the screen-scrolling was a bit more freeing (would love to be able to turn and move around the areas to see whats coming next, or to see what all I have to work with). But so far I like it. Simple, to the point. But would be cool if there was some sort of story, just to give it a bit more umph. Because if I play it too long, it just feels like mundane repetition.

Enjoyable

I really like this game. It is basically a series of puzzles smashed into a beautiful adventure type game. Its relaxing and fun. However, I wish there was more of a purpose for the whole adventure cause at the moment it has a similar feel to free flow. But other than that, I recommend it.

Fun, but

Plot?
